The Twilight Saga hit it big at the MTV awards held on June 6th, 2010. New Moon snagged the trophy for Best Movie. Kristen Stewart won for Best Female Performance and Robert Pattinson for Best Male Performance and together they took the Best Kiss award for the New Moon film. Robert Pattinson also received MTV’s “golden popcorn” for Global Superstar.
Anna Kendrick, who plays Jessica in the Twilight Saga, was Best Breakout Star winner for her role in Up in the Air.
Books for the musically inclined or religiously interested Twilight fan will go on sale this Thursday, April 1st.
An instrumental play-along paperback and CD combo will provide fifteen songs from The Twilight Saga: New Moon which have been “arranged for solo instrumentalists”. Editions can be found for the flute, clarinet, horn, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello, tenor sax and alto sax and are produced by the Hal Leonard Corporation.
Also hitting the shelves this April 1st is “From Twilight to Breaking Dawn: Religious Themes in the Twilight Saga” by Sandra L. Gravett.
The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards were held Saturday, March 27th, at UCLA campus in California. Taylor Lautner won the award for Favorite Movie Actor, beating out Zac Efron, Shia LeBouf and Tyler Perry. New Moon characters Jacob and Bella won the Kids Choice award for Favorite Cutest Couple over characters Edward and Bella. The Twilight Saga: New Moon lost out to Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel for Favorite Movie and The Twilight Series lost the award for Favorite Book to Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Summit Entertainment, the force behind the Twilight Saga movies, claims that four million DVD and Blu-Ray copies were sold this past weekend. The New Moon DVD came out Saturday, March 20th, and was celebrated by Twilight fans at midnight release parties everywhere.

Kristen Stewart wore a black minidress for her appearance on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show. She talked to Jay about her recent visit to England for the BAFTA awards, her role in the movie Panic Room and her throat-clearing moment at the Oscars. Kristen told Leno she wears her heart on her sleeve and is incapable of acting when she’s not, well, acting. As for The Runaways, Kristen said she spent three weeks with rocker Joan Jett learning her postures and tics. Jay then played a clip from the new film where Kristen sings “I love playing with fire”.
Dakota Fanning will take her turn on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this Friday, March 12th. Dakota stars as Cherie Currie in The Runaways alongside Kristen Stewart. Dakota is known to Twilight fans for her portrayal of Jane in the New Moon and Eclipse movies.
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were all nominated together for Worst Screen Couple at this year’s Razzie Awards which took place on Saturday, March 6th. The trio of The Twilight Saga: New Moon lost the award to All About Steve couple Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper. Billy Ray Cyrus took home a Razzie for Worst Supporting Actor in Hannah Montana: The Movie, ousting nominee Robert Pattinson for his performance as Edward Cullen in the 2009 Twilight sequel. New Moon was nominated but failed to win in the categories of Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel and Worst Screenplay; those awards went to Land of the Lost and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen respectively.
